Volunteer Days are a tangible way for us to give back to local organisations and an opportunity to come together as a team. The first Volunteer Day of 2025 saw team members work alongside each other to renovate the Community Sports Foundation’s education suite at Carrow Road.

The Community Sports Foundation works with over 43,000 people in Norfolk every year. They use the power of sport to support and inspire our community, driving inclusion for people with disabilities, boosting mental health and wellbeing, and supporting disadvantaged people to raise their aspirations.

Our enthusiastic team left their desks behind to put their handiwork skills to the test, decorating the education suite – a space where further education students can study and relax. It was a day of refining the team’s painting skills but also a chance to connect with colleagues across different departments and offices.

Catherine Crisp, Accounts & Tax Senior Manager, from our Attleborough office said: “The last time I took part in a Volunteer Day it was a test of my physical stamina, walking 20km along the North Norfolk coast in some fairly wet and windy conditions – this was a definite shift as I prepared to put my practical skills into action.

The team at The Community Sports Foundation were really welcoming and gave us some clear guidance on the tasks we would be helping with. It was great to be able to see our hard work come to fruition as the day went on and to be part of the efforts to transform this valuable space.

Despite working outside our usual skill set, the day offered a really rewarding challenge and I enjoyed getting to know team members that I don’t usually have the chance to interact with.”
