It’s National Careers Week (NCW) from 7 – 12 March, this is a focused initiative that provides knowledgeable guidance and advice to those thinking about their next steps after education.

The NCW website has a great range of resources for young people leaving education, helping them to gain an insight into the world of employment and further qualifications. Free resources can be found by following this link, including online workshops, help with building a careers portfolio, employability skills and a Job Journey App Challenge.

Making the move from education to the workplace can bring about feelings of uncertainty and perhaps some unanswered questions – is pursuing further education the right path for you, is an apprenticeship the best route, what sector would you like to start your career in? NCW is designed to prompt you into thinking about some of these questions, whilst also providing the resources to help you answer them.

Trainee scheme at M+A Partners

At M+A Partners we have a Trainee Programme that is designed for both school leavers and graduates. Every year, we take on Trainees from a mix of educational backgrounds and fully support them on their journey from education to a rewarding career in a professional field.

Our Trainee Programmes are designed to make it possible for trainees to develop business skills whilst completing more formal training and studying towards their chosen qualification.

We have a recruitment process that enables us to find the role that is right for you. This might be within our Tax, Accounts or Audit departments or perhaps in one of our support functions including, Payroll, Corporate Services or Administration.

You can find out more about our Trainee opportunities by downloading our School Leavers and Graduates brochure.

Thoughts from our current Tax and Accounts Trainees

“As a trainee, I am able to combine on the job learning with working towards my ATT qualification. My team has been proactive in giving me lots of support, helping me to quickly adapt to how things operate within the tax function and developing my knowledge of personal tax to give me a good footing for my first ATT exam.”
Jonathan Sheldon, Trainee Tax Adviser

“I felt like I dealt with the challenge of tax return season well, especially given the short amount of time I had been with the firm. This wouldn’t have been possible without the training and assistance I had received in the weeks and months prior to this, and all the support from my fellow team members.”
Eddie Webster, Trainee Tax Adviser

“There is a positive working environment within our department, with more senior colleagues willing to help and answer lots of questions, while giving you conviction in your own capabilities.” Edward Saunders, Accounts Trainee

Kieran_Flood

“I joined M+A Partners as an Accounts Trainee after leaving school and despite this being my first job, I quickly felt part of the team, which in turn helped me to build up confidence within my role and when speaking to clients.”
Kieran Flood, Accounts Trainee
