As part of our commitment to supporting charities and organisations within our local communities, the M+A Partners’ Volunteer Day provides the team with an opportunity to make a tangible difference and give back during their normal working hours.

In July, eleven members of the team visited Star Throwers Cancer Support Charity, providing practical help to transform their indoor and outdoor spaces ahead of the charity’s Garden Party fundraiser.

Volunteering Days form an important part of the firm’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives and are a great way of engaging in meaningful projects, while gaining new skills and positively impacting worthwhile causes.

The firm’s ESG Committee works together to identify ventures that the wider team can get involved with – from fundraising efforts and physical challenges through to hands-on help such as cleaning, decorating and gardening.

Feedback from the team for our recent day at Star Throwers was really positive, with employees commenting on the benefits for both the charity and their own wellbeing.

“I’m sure I echo the sentiments of everyone when I thank the Partners for giving us this time to be able to make a difference; I think we should be proud of what we achieved at Star Throwers.”

“An inspiring day in many ways; for the work Star Throwers do, day in and day out, a humbling experience, and for them embracing volunteer groups like ours, thank you; for having time with my work colleagues from different areas of the business and talking to them about their lives rather than work matters, thank you for sharing.”

“It is important to us as a firm to identify constructive ways through which we can support some of the many charities and organisations operating within our region” said Chief Operating Officer, Phil Webster. “Donating time and skills through our Volunteer Days is a way we can really make a significant difference, while also enabling the team to connect with people they perhaps otherwise wouldn’t have outside their daily work environment.”
