The last Volunteer Day of 2024 was a festive one, as some of our team headed to St Martins Housing Trust to help with preparations for their first Christmas Fayre.
Throughout this year, the M+A Partners’ team have taken part in some varied volunteering experiences, from decorating, to gardening, tidying up at the zoo, and raising funds with a 20k walk along the North Norfolk coastline. Christmas spirit was aplenty as a group of 10 volunteers arrived at St Martin’s learning and development centre to round the year off with a day of wrapping presents for Santa’s grotto, decorating the tree and giving their rooms a seasonal makeover with Christmas trimmings.
People and Culture Adviser, Emma Bunn was one of our festive volunteers and said of the experience:
“The M+A Partners’ team and I had an incredible experience volunteering at St Martins Housing at the end of November. The volunteers and employees at St Martins were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. From the moment we stepped into their learning and development centre, it was clear how much dedication and effort they put into supporting their members. Helping St Martins prepare for their Christmas Fayre, scheduled for early December, was a truly rewarding experience. Whether it was Nic and Kirsten putting their organisation skills to work on the tombola, Declan, Jake, and Luke expertly tackling the gift-wrapping station, or Chanelle, Leah, Chloe, Emma, and Ian bringing festive cheer by decorating themed Christmas trees throughout the centre, everyone came together to make the event special.
A big thank you to St Martins Housing for welcoming us so warmly and giving us the chance to support their important work. If you would like to get involved or help this incredible charity, visit their website or contact the team to learn more about volunteering opportunities or to make a donation.”
Chief Operating Officer, Phil Webster said:
“Volunteer Days have really enhanced the team experience during 2024, providing an opportunity to gain new skills, build confidence and play an active part in directly helping organisations in the region. We encourage a collaborative environment within M+A Partners and volunteering wholly supports this as it enables individuals to work together in a different setting, creating a new sense of connection.”
