M+A Partners Cromer is a team of twelve professionals, many of which you will be in contact with on a regular basis to assist with your accounts and tax requirements.

To make sure you are familiar with the talented individuals in our office and each of their roles within the firm, you can find all of the Cromer team on the carousel below.

We also introduce you to three new team members – welcome to David Cunningham, Accounts and Tax Assistant Manager; Harleigh Byers, Accounts and Tax Trainee; and Lois West, Accounts and Tax Trainee.

David Cunningham
Accounts and Tax Assistant Manager

David qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004 and brings with him 24 years’ experience working at another local firm of accountants.

Working with a mixture of sole trader, partnership and limited company clients, David is experienced in advising on various compliance and tax planning matters. He is knowledgeable across a variety of sectors and offers guidance to suit clients’ specific needs – he also has specialist understanding of farms and landed estates.

Within our team, David is an Accounts and Tax Assistant Manager. He is looking forward to working with his client base and providing accounting, personal and corporate taxation services – advising on record keeping obligations and tax planning opportunities.

Harleigh Byers
Accounts and Tax Trainee

Harleigh joins our Cromer team as a Trainee and is currently completing her AAT qualification –  she hopes to progress to ACCA in the future.

She prepares accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, as well as dealing with business tax and personal tax returns.

Outside of work, Harleigh enjoys going to the gym to lift heavy weights and spending time with her family – especially her very cute springador Brody. Eating chocolate is also an interest because she couldn’t live without it!

Lois West
Accounts and Tax Trainee

Lois is a new Trainee, gaining practical client experience whilst studying towards her AAT qualification.

She mainly completes sole trader, partnership and small company accounts, along with personal tax and quarterly VAT returns.

When she’s not in the Cromer office, Lois enjoys going to the gym and walking – making the most of the wonderful scenery that North Norfolk has to offer.

Ian Barber
Partner
BIO
Ian trained as a Chartered Accountant in Norfolk, qualifying in 1996. Following 12 years' working in practice, Ian worked within industry as a Financial Controller, before setting up his own accountancy firm in 2005.

After acquiring another practice in Cromer in 2006, Ian joined M+A Partners in 2010, running M+A Partners (North Norfolk) Ltd -  a joint venture, co-owned with M+A Partners.

The joint venture ended in April 2018 when Ian became a Partner in M+A Partners.

Ian has extensive experience as a general practice accountant, dealing with sole traders, partnerships and limited companies - providing accountancy and taxation advice.

Harleigh joined the M+A Partners Cromer office in February 2023 after working at another firm since the summer of 2022.

Harleigh is currently completing her AAT qualification and she hopes to progress to ACCA after this.

Anne Avis
Business Support Assistant

Anne started her career in London working in the banking sector, before moving to Norfolk in 1994.  Since then she has gained a wealth of administration experience across many sectors including finance and manufacturing.

She joined M+A Partners in 2008 as an administrator and receptionist at our Cromer office, and is a part of our Business Support team.

Anthony Helliwell

Anthony joined M+A Partners in December 2017 when he relocated with his wife to Norfolk and works in the Cromer Office.

With over 30 years' experience working within accountancy, Anthony prepares annual accounts and tax returns for a wide range of clients.

Bryony Manger

Bryony joined the M+A Partners Cromer office in 2019 after working at another firm for a number of years where she completed her AAT studies and gained MAAT status.


Bryony enjoys working on all aspects of accounting as this has helped for her to gain well-rounded knowledge and skills. She hopes to continue her studies in the future, moving onto ACCA or similar.

Chloe Southgate
Trainee Chartered Accountant
BIO

Chloe joined the Cromer office as a Trainee Chartered Accountant in early 2022 after working for another small firm for a number of years where she completed her full AAT qualification and gained her full MAAT status.


Chloe enjoys all aspects of accounting, especially smaller sets of accounts for individuals and partnerships, as these were her foundation points. She hopes to progress on to her ACCA studies in the near future.

Christine Medler

Christine joined M+A in November 2006 with 33 years' of industry experience and having been with her previous firm for 23 years.

She achieved her Quickbooks Online Core Certification in February 2018.

Christine is involved in payroll, bookkeeping, VAT and annual accounts for individuals and partnerships.

Nicola Barber
Accounts and Tax Manager
BIO
Nicola joined M+A Partners in 2010, when the firm of Barber and Co. was merged into the M+A Partners family. Prior to this she had worked for 4 years with Barber and Co. and 14 years at another local firm of accountants.

Nicola qualified as an Accounting Technician in 1996 and is an Accounts and Tax Manager at our Cromer office, where she oversees a wide variety of clients including payroll, accounts preparation, corporate and personal taxation.

She is currently treasurer of the Friends of Beeston Hall School.

Louise joined the firm in 2010, following the merger of Barber and Co. with M+A Partners. Louise qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2006 with another local firm of accountants, before joining Barber and Co. in 2007.


Louise is a Senior Manager at the Cromer office, where she deals with a variety of clients providing accountancy, personal and corporate tax services.
