M+A Partners’ People & Culture Trainee, Sophie Metivier, has been named Professional Services Apprentice of the Year (HR, Accountancy and Management) at the 2025 City College Norwich and Easton College Apprentice Awards.

This recognition reflects Sophie’s commitment and professionalism, while also underscoring the important role apprenticeship programmes have in developing talent and equipping individuals with the targeted skills needed for their chosen careers.

Sophie has also successfully completed her CIPD Level 3 qualification, providing her with essential strategies to further enhance her expertise within the people services field. She plays an active role in shaping and supporting the initiatives of our People & Culture team, serving as a key point of contact for colleagues and influencing positive developments across the firm.

The qualification itself covered four modules: business, culture and change in context; principles of analytics; core behaviours for people professionals; and essentials of people practice. As part of her assessed project, Sophie explored absence management and has already begun introducing thoughtful new initiatives across the firm – including providing fresh fruit in our offices. With more ideas underway, the team is excited about the continued positive impact of her contributions.

On her qualification, Sophie said: ‘I am very grateful to the firm for supporting my qualification and apprenticeship, as well as giving me the space to implement my own project and initiatives. I would also like to thank Emma Bunn and Phil Webster who have been a key part of my achievements. I am excited to continue making a meaningful contribution to the People & Culture team and the wider firm, applying the skills and knowledge I have gained during this qualification. ’

Congratulations to Sophie on this well-earned recognition.
