The Employer Training Incentive Programme (ETIP) is a grant scheme that has been set up by Norfolk County Council to help businesses fund a range of training opportunities.

Eligibility

To apply for the funding, claimants must be

  • Self-employed or a small, medium or micro business; and
  • Based in Norfolk.

All training must be used to help businesses retain and upskill employees – improving productivity, efficiency or the effectiveness of a business.

The training

Training funded by the scheme covers almost any course a business might require, from food hygiene, first aid and fork-lift driving to social media and selling goods online.

The courses can be accredited and certified by an official body or be non-accredited training courses.

The format of the training might be in-person or in the classroom, on the job or online. Businesses can choose the training providers they wish to work with.

The funding

  • Businesses must fund 25% of the course cost;
  • ETIP will pay the remaining 75%; and
  • £1,500 in total grant value is available per business.

How to apply

ETIP Business Advisers are able to provide a list of possible courses available from local training providers in Norfolk.

Businesses can also choose to find an online training provider of their choice, as long as they are based in the UK.

Email etip@norfolk.gov.uk with your name, business address and telephone number and they will get in touch with you.
