SWEF has announced continued funding support for young entrepreneurs in Norfolk through its Business Grants programme, offering financial assistance to help early-stage businesses start, grow and develop.

The scheme is aimed at individuals aged 18–30 who are based in Norfolk and have the ambition to build a business but are facing financial or other barriers.

There are two types of grant available:

Start-Up Grants (up to £500)
These are designed for very early-stage or pre-revenue businesses (turnover under £500 per month). Funding can be used to support essential start-up costs such as equipment, materials, initial stock, website development, product development, and training.

Business Grants (up to £2,000)
These are aimed at more established early-stage businesses that have been trading for less than 2.5 years and are generating more than £500 per month in turnover. Funding can support growth and development activity, helping businesses to scale or diversify.

Funding can typically be used for training, product development, equipment to support growth or increased production, materials for new product lines, prototypes, website builds, and marketing or launch activity.

In previous rounds, funding has supported projects including equipment purchases, training courses, website redesigns, marketing activity, and product testing.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, although the fund may close temporarily when available funding has been fully allocated.
