I have been playing hockey since I was ten years old so have played in quite a few matches between then and now! That’s what is so great about the sport though – it’s something you can play at any age and there are many clubs that welcome newcomers and those that haven’t picked up a hockey stick for a a number of years.
I played for Norfolk as a teenager and now play for Watton Hockey Club Ladies 1st team. We have a great group of ladies and it’s a lovely sociable and yet competitive environment to play in.
Playing in the East League division means spending my Saturdays travelling round East Anglia – visiting the likes of Cambridge, Wisbech, Bury and Peterborough!
Here we are modelling our new away kit after a 3-0 win against North Norfolk.
We got promoted as league champions to division 1 in March 2020 which was a great achievement for us all. We also recently won the Pelicans Summer 6’s tournament.
My eldest daughter now plays for the girls development team so I think my love of hockey might possibly run in the family.
